Appointed by W.H.O. to conduct research and produce documents on "A Survey on the Present Status and Future Priorities of Organisations of People with Disabilities in Developing Countries."

1981 - 1982 Study on Access to United Nations Buildings, Information and Documentation.

April - 1990 Appointed as one of three global evaluators to assist the Community Based programmes carried out by the International Centre for Advancement of Community Based Rehabilitation of Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

1995 Invited as Consultant/Resource Person to Meetings of the Executive Committee and General Assembly of the Asian Blind Union, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 22 to 25 June 1995

1995 Attended the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP) Region's Meeting as a Resource/Consultant to review the Progress of the Asia Pacific Decade for Disabled Persons, 1993 - 2002 in Bangkok, Thailand

1995 Presented a paper on "Legislation for the Disabled People in Singapore" at the 4th International Abilympics Conference in Perth, Australia

1999 Presented a paper and served as an expert on Issues and strategies for building national capacities to promote and monitor implementation of norms and standards relating to persons with disabilities at Interregional Seminar and Symposium on International Norms and Standards Relating to Disability organised by Equal Opportunities Commission in Hong Kong

  • Presented keynote papers and delivered lectures in the field of rehabilitation, counselling and consumer rights both in Singapore and around the world.
  • Served on several panels in the capacity of UN expert on the World Programme of Action Concerning Disabled Persons.
  • Served as delegate and representative of Disabled People's International at ESCAP, ILO, WHO and the Vienna Centre for Social Development and Humanitarian Affairs (Austria).
